February 2015 Newsletter
Dear Connections Families,
As we enter the last semester of the school year, I would like to encourage every parent to help keep their children focused on school. Winter seems to get long this time of the year and students need to be encouraged to stay involved in activities and school work. Parents and teachers have the same goal - to provide the best education for their children/students. Working together we can maximize the educational opportunities for every child. Therefore, please let any of us know how we can provide a better program to meet those needs. We are always open to any suggestions to make a better homeschool program for our Kenai Peninsula Families.
We would like to recognize our students for doing a great job by posting their name and accomplishments on our Connections Facebook page where family and friends can see all of the great things our students are doing! Please let us know when your student has done something you’d like them to be recognized for.
The KPBSD Child Find Program and Frontier Community Services Infant Learning will be offering free screenings for children 5 years old and younger. The screening will be on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 9:00 – 3:00 at the Frontier Community Services, Suite 14 in the Red Diamond Center. We will screen your child’s early development, motor skills, speech, early learning concepts, vision & hearing. To make an appointment or for more information, call 714 -6647.
The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District is holding a Public Budget Meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. in the Soldotna High School library. Every one interested is encouraged to attend. If there are questions, please contact Lassie Nelson at 907-714-8838.
I sincerely hope that you and your family are having a wonderful winter season. Thank you for your dedication to homeschooling your children.
