Dear Connections Families,
The school year is moving along quickly and first quarter is now complete! We hope your first quarter has been successful and that your students are making great academic progress. Please check in with your advisor for the first quarter reports; keep in mind that if you need any help or suggestions the staff at Connections is always available and ready to help.
Connections has a school improvement plan, called Performance Series Program, to increase students’ proficiency in mathematics. This program indicates what students have mastered and what they need to work on. It’s an amazing tool and very helpful to know what they should be learning. Listed below is information to find the Alaska State Learning Standards. Please talk with your advisor about the Performance Series Program.
To review the Alaska Department of Education & Early Developments website click on this link: http://www.eed.state.ak.us/
The website has a very easy to read page that lists all math and language arts standards. In addition, there are parent guides and tips. Check out the standards and parent tips at this link: http://www.eed.state.ak.us/akparentscommunity/
The standards provide a great framework to ensure students are meeting the academic expectations for each grade level.
Our goal is to serve all homeschool families on the Kenai Peninsula and it’s important to us that we meet and exceed your expectations. Below are several hyperlinks to evaluate how our program is doing along with evaluations for principal and teachers. Please take a moment to let us know what we do well and what we can do as a learning community to improve education for our students:
Connections Homeschool Program is honored to be a part of your child’s educational journey!!!
