October 2013 Newsletter
Dear Connections Families,
The school year is moving along quickly and first quarter is now complete. If you haven’t already, please check in with your advisor for the first quarter check. We hope your first quarter has been successful and that your students are making great academic progress. Please keep in mind that if you need any help or suggestions the staff at Connections is always available and ready to help.
I hope you have had a chance to review the Alaska Department of Education & Early Developments newly revised website: http://www.eed.state.ak.us/
The website has a very easy to read page that lists all math and language arts standards. In addition, there are parent guides and tips. Check out the standards and parent tips at this link: http://www.eed.state.ak.us/akparentscommunity/
The standards provide a great framework to ensure students are meeting the academic expectations for each grade level.
Connections enrollment is currently 778 students. It’s our goal to take care of all homeschool families on the Kenai Peninsula and it’s important to us that we are meeting and exceeding your expectations. I would like to ask you to evaluate how we are doing and have included evaluation hyperlinks for our program, principal and teachers below. We would appreciate you taking a moment and letting us know what we do well and what we can do as a learning community to improve education for our students. Please click on the links below to complete the surveys.
Connections Homeschool Program is honored to be a part of your child’s education!!!
